In pictures: Day One and Day Two of The Superyacht Show 2018

The venue

The Mediterranean’s newest boat show threw its doors open this week as The Superyacht Show 2018 got underway on May 2. We round up some of the best photos from this inaugural event…

OneOcean Port Vell provided an idyllic setting for the show, within easy walking distance of central Barcelona and capable of accommodating yachts up to 190 metres.

The fleet

An impressive line-up of yachts for sale and/or charter has been assembled for the first edition of The Superyacht Show, thanks tp the pulling power of its organiser LYBRA (the Large Yacht Brokers’ Association). These included 66 metre Okto (far right) and 70 metre Martha Ann (blue hull).

The brands

The Superyacht Show offers plenty more to get excited about, beside the yachts, with premium brands Aston Martin and Triton Submarines also taking up pride of place in OneOcean Port Vell. The two firms teamed up last year to create Project Neptune, the first Aston Martin-branded submarine, and the Barcelona event was used to reveal further details, including the top speed and interior design options.

The entertainment

The Superyacht Show was given a distinctly Iberian flavour with live music and traditional Spanish dancing on day one.

The Richard Earp Award

This year’s Richard Earp Award was presented to Peter Insull, founder of Peter Insull’s Yacht Marketing, on day one. Peter (second from right) was joined at The Superyacht Show by members of the Earp family and LYBRA chairman Jonathan Beckett (centre).

The hospitality

Of course it wouldn’t be a proper superyacht show without plenty of refreshing drinks, fine food and socialising. The Superyacht Show is certainly providing and has teamed up with No12 Fine Wines and Provisions as well as La Reina de la Trufa.
