31m Swan 98 performance cruiser Be Cool newly listed for sale

The 31-metre Nautor Swan sailing yacht Be Cool is newly listed for sale with Lorenzo Bortolotti of Nautor Swan Brokerage.

Currently the only Swan 98 on the market, Be Cool was delivered in 2020 as the first hull in the line and has since been maintained by her crew, now in turn-key condition for her next owner. Designed by veteran Swan designer German Frers, the yacht features a flared stern, clean foredeck and low-profile coach roof.

The Swan 98 was conceived as a fast performance cruiser but hull one was further refined as a super light, agile version. Special analyses were performed pre-build to ensure her entire construction would allow her to be more performance-oriented than the standard design. The hull and deck are built in epoxy SPRINT pre-preg carbon-fibre skins which gives the yacht strength and stiffness while maintaining the lightest possible weight.

Although Be Cool is rigged and ready for true maxi-class racing, the dual-purpose spaces are perfect for entertaining on long cruises. One of her two cockpits is for guests to relax underway. At anchor, it becomes a social lounge space with sofas and converts again to become a dining area shaded by an optional bimini.

Twin helm positions allow the skipper to manage all the sail handling, as the Swan 98 offers pushbutton sailing.

Accommodation is for eight across four cabins, including a generous owner's cabin aft with a walk-in wardrobe, with extra space for a crew of four in separate quarters.

The interior, by Genovese designer Misa Poggi and Nautor’s interior designer, Heini Gustafsson, follows a traditional navy theme with furniture and floorboards finished in dark oak with a satin finish. The saloon – which can be configured in a number of ways for dining, entertaining and lounging – features a dining area to starboard with seating for up to eight, while the lounge is to portside.

Be Cool has a telescopic keel that reduces draft from 4.9 metres to 3.2 metres to access shallower anchorages, yet is efficient for upwind sailing. Under power, a Cummins engine pushes the yacht to top speeds of 11 knots with a cruising speed at 9 knots. 

Lying in Italy, Be Cool is asking €12,000,000.
