The 41.6-metre J-Class sailing yacht Ranger has rejoined the market with Georges Bourgoignie at Fraser following an "exhaustive" €6,000,000 refit and completion of her Lloyds special surveys.
Delivered in 2004 by Denmark-based yard Danish Yachts, Ranger is an exceptional sailer that "blends historic pedigree with modern performance", according to her broker. She was built as a replica of the famed J-Class yacht that won the America's Cup in 1937, bringing together the likes of Paolo Scanu, Reichel-Pugh and Fred Elliott to work within the original lines of William Starling Burgess and Sparkman & Stephens.
Ranger would later prove her individual prowess by taking home the 2023 Overall J-Class Trophy, alongside winning the 2022 St Barths Bucket and the 2014 and 2015 Voiles de St Tropez.
In 2019, the yacht underwent a comprehensive refit at Vitters shipyard in the Netherlands, totalling €6,000,000. Her transformation included a complete deck layout redesign, new teak decks, a full repaint and a total engine room rebuild.
As the largest volume yacht in the J-Class fleet, Ranger has accommodation across four cabins, including a forward master suite with a raised berth and sofa seating. Her high-glass mahogany interiors by American designer Glade Johnson create a truly warm and classic onboard feel, supported by teak and holly floors and Art Deco detailing.
The main saloon is worth noting for its combined formal dining area and richly cushioned lounge.
The yacht for sale can reach a 10-knot maximum speed and a cruising speed of eight knots, with a high-modulus carbon rig making her easier and safer to sail. Other key specs include a 6.4-metre beam and a draft of 4.9 metres.
Lying in Newport, US, Ranger is asking $6,900,000.
Not available for sale or charter to U.S. residents while in U.S. waters.
