Listing broker Joaquin Genrich of Fraser has announced a $500,000 price reduction on the 51.5-metre expedition yacht Beauport.
Beauport was constructed in steel by Canadian shipyard Davie Shipbuilding for the Canadian Coast Guard, originally delivered in 1960 with light ice-breaking capabilities. She spent her first 30 years operating in freshwater on the St Lawrence Seaway in Eastern Canada and Northern United States, originally accommodating a crew of 34.
In 1993, a multi-million dollar rebuild saw her interior converted to superyacht standards, and she has been upgraded several times since, with her most recent refit undertaken in 2023, which included major overhauls to her twin diesel engines. Collingwood penned her naval architecture and exterior design.
Thanks to her expedition size, Beauport offers a plethora of interior spaces for entertaining and relaxing. 10 spacious cabins accommodate up to 20 guests on board, making her perfect for large groups, who are cared for by a crew of up to 12. According to her broker, Beauport's accommodations have been "tastefully appointed to ensure comfort during long-range explorations", including a dedicated deck for her owner.
The 1993 rebuild saw several crew cabins removed, making way for a large main saloon, while three further cabins were replaced with a conference and entertaining area. To starboard is a main dining area, complete with two large wine racks, built-in china and glass cupboards, and a formal dining table seating 12. Large rectangular windows replaced a number of portholes during her refit, allowing for an abundance of natural light to fill the living spaces.
Three exterior decks and a helipad allows for extensive vistas, outdoor dining, and easy transfers to, and exploration of, remote destinations thanks to large tenders and the ample storage for watersports equipment.
Twin 640hp Fairbanks Morse engines give the 683 GT yacht for sale a maximum speed of 12 knots, a cruising speed of 10 knots and an expedition range of 5,000 nautical miles. She is also fitted with Koopnautic stabilisers for additional comfort. Key specs include a beam of 10.3 metres and a 3-metre draft.
Beauport is now asking $3,995,000.
