Acting on a tip from Boat International’s CEO, Tony Harris, that the 52m schooner Meteor is for sale, I call Moran Yacht & Ship in Florida and it’s true, as the company signed the central agency for sale just this week. Built by Royal Huisman in 2007 to a design by Dykstra Naval Architects, she has a classic John Munford interior accommodating six guests in three cabins. Her impeccable pedigree won her an unprecedented three awards at the World Superyacht Awards in 2008. The winner of this year’s St Barth’s bucket, Meteor will also be participating in Boat International’s Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta at the Yacht Club Costa Smerlada in Porto Cervo from 9-13 June 2009. Offered for sale at €33 million, less than her replacement cost, Meteor will be available for inspection in Monaco in July and August 2009.
