A new build 55 metre Amels motor yacht has been sold by Imperial Yachts. Imperial will act as the owner’s representative and will supervise construction throughout the build, scheduled for completion in Spring 2017.
Being built in steel and aluminium with exterior design by Tim Heywood and an interior by Laura Sessa, she is the latest hull in the Amels 180 Limited Edition series. Few details are available at present but typically this model has accommodation for 12 guests and 12 crew members plus the captain. The full-beam master suite is on the main deck while an extra twin cabin nearby can be used for guests or children and four further double cabins are on the lower deck, all with en suite bathroom facilities.
There is also a special emphasis on open-air access and as a result the owner’s suite is fitted with a folding balcony while the main deck saloon has port and starboard sea balconies. The sun deck is 25 metres long and offers 155 square meters of luxury living. The sun deck also accommodates a touch-and-go helipad, which becomes part of the guest area when not in use.
The Amels 180 also features a large swimming platform with a beach club including a steam room, sauna, gymnasium and retractable steps into the water.
Twin 16V 2000 M70 MTU engines will give her a cruising speed of 13 knots and a range of 4,500 nautical miles.
The sale marks the seventh hull confirmed by Imperial with the Amels yard since 2009.
