IYC Sells 72 Metre Admiral Superyacht Project Metamorphosis

Admiral is to build a fully custom 72 metre superyacht named Project Metamorphosis, which has been sold by IYC.

Marking the seventh collaboration between IYC and the Italian builder, the yacht will be one of the largest yachts built by Admiral.

Renderings have not been released and the designer will not be revealed until 2021. However, Admiral did reveal that the yacht will feature a huge 1,800GT and full displacement steel hull.

Built to ice class, Project Metamorphosis will have a transatlantic range of over 5,500 nautical miles. Other highlights include a large beach club, aft deck pool, spa and helipad.

Accommodation on board is for 14 guests in six main deck cabins and a full owner’s deck. The crew quarters meanwhile will allow for a staff of 20.

IYC’s Michel Chryssicopoulos said the project would take Admiral “to yet another level” and “reinvent traditional yacht design.”

“Admiral has matured in terms of client focus and has drastically increased its quality of build, positioning them as one of the leading yards in the superyacht industry,” he added.

Vice chairman of Admiral’s parent company The Italian Sea Group, Giuseppe Taranto, added: “With this new agreement we are strengthening our position in the segment of megayachts from 60 meters up to 90 meters to demonstrate our full commitment to each owner’s needs and requests.”

Project Metamorphosis is due for delivery in 2024.
