The 40-metre ketch Antares has joined the market with Georges Bourgoignie of Fraser.
Built of aluminium in the Netherlands by Royal Huisman in 2005, she was refitted in 2020 and "has seen exhaustive maintenance and upgrade investments over the last eight years of ownership". Antares was designed in the UK by top naval architect Bill Dixon and sports a "subtly-styled 1930s Art Deco" interior by Rhoades Young Design.
Accommodation is provided for a party of nine in four cabins, comprising a master stateroom aft – with direct private access to the deck – a double VIP cabin to port, a twin-berthed guest cabin to starboard, with an additional Pullman berth, and another double guest cabin forward. All cabins have en-suite bathrooms and there are further quarters for a crew of six.
A highlight of Antares is her deckhouse – with windows that open to connect it with the cockpit – featuring teak joinery, comfortable seating, a 12-person, convertible dining table as well as a communications and navigation station, from where the boat can be operated from. Two generous cockpits allow guests to find quiet spots to relax while under sail on passages or all come together to socialise or enjoy on-deck dining.
The LR-classed vessel has only ever been used privately and has cruised the South Pacific, with family aboard, for the past five years – "undergoing adaptations to ensure redundancy and robustness for expedition-style service". A side boarding platform and aft swimming platform make for easy guest embarkation.
Under her 715hp Caterpillar engine the 218GT yacht for sale has a cruising speed of 11 knots and maximum speed of 12.5 knots.
Antares is asking €11,500,000 and is en route to Palma, Spain.
