Built in aluminium to a design by Dubois Naval Architects, Twizzle was launched in 2010 as the Royal Huisman's first flybridge sailing yacht. With one of the most advanced sailing rigs ever created, she offers impressive performance and carries 1,780 square metres of sail; both main and mizzen sails can be hoisted simultaneously in under two minutes.
Twizzle features a Southern Spars rig and is fitted with two custom carbon fibre masts and rollaway carbon booms. Dubois Naval Architects designed a swing daggerboard that increases the 3.8 metre draught to 11 metres, which can be lowered even when the yacht is sailing at full speed.
The interior by Redman Whiteley Dixon was designed to offer plenty of space and light with a raised pilot house design that allows for two saloons: one that serves as the main saloon and another that functions as an observation lounge or formal dining space forward. Her interiors are light and airy with contemporary decor that makes use of acidwashed oak, polished marbles, soft leathers and cashmere.
Three guest cabins in addition to the master suite offer accommodation for a total of nine. All cabins have full en suite bathroom facilities, access to a Kaleidescape server with video and audio on demand and satellite television.
Twizzle’s wide open deck areas are fully optimised for open-air living. The centre cockpit flows seamlessly from the main saloon, providing an intimate and sheltered area for relaxing and dining with panoramic views.
Twizzle joins the market following an extensive refit and Lloyd's 10-year class survey completed in 2021, which included an overhaul of the engines and generators, electrical and navigation upgrades and a servicing of all of her sailing systems. She has also taken delivery of new North sails in April 2022 including a new mainsail, mizzen and blade.
Under power, twin Caterpillar C32 engines give her a range of 4,000 nautical miles at 11 knots.
