Superyacht owners bid farewell to Virgin Gorda

20 March 2011

DAY 4 - CARIBBEAN SUPERYACHT REGATTA & RENDEZVOUS 2011

Guests of the Caribbean Superyacht Regatta & Rendezvous met this morning to bid each other farewell over brunch at Biras Beach.

On another beautiful day on Virgin Gorda, the owners of the sail and motor boats participating in the event and their personal guests gathered at this stunning location to say their goodbyes, at the conclusion of four days of fun and friendship on and off the water.

Nicole Wertheim, yacht owner, commented that the event’s structure suited her perfectly. 'My husband wanted to go out and race with the boys while I wanted to spend time with my lady friends. That’s the beauty of this event, people can do exactly what they want.'

‘I’ve loved the experience. The BVI is a great place to have this kind of event. I think I will bring Invader, my Jack Hargrave yacht next year', commented World Superyacht Awards Judge Kevin Jaffé.

The Caribbean Superyacht Regatta and Rendezvous has brought superyacht owners together in a way that has never before been achieved in the Caribbean. The natural beauty of the BVI, ideal sailing conditions and development of the new YCCS Marina and yacht club make Virgin Gorda the perfect location for this inaugural superyacht event which looks set to become an annual fixture on the yachting calendar.

A final comment from the owners of Twizzle: ‘It’s just been fabulous...all the boats around us, the islands, the courses…. we could not have asked for anymore.’
