La Joie de Mer is one of the newest breed of 29 meter Jongerts, designed by Tony Castro and built in 2005. She is known for her excellent build quality, modern comforts of a well-heeled yacht, and her exceptional sailing performance. Already regarded as a fine sailing vessel, in 2008 and 2011 her keel was optimized to strengthen her sailing prowess and be more competitive on the Corinthian racing circuit. As a result, it’s noteworthy that La Joie de Mer is especially lively in light winds. The layout and flow of La Joie de Mer lends itself to enjoying life aboard whether sailing or at anchor. A custom carbon Hall Spars mast and Park Avenue boom, rod rigging, Harken winches and a captive main winch, plus all North 3DI sails make up the main sailing package. The rig was taken out and serviced for the 5-year rig survey, in the fall of 2023. The tender is housed in the garage aft, so decks are clear. Twin helm wheels look forward to two inviting outdoor settee/lounge pads. The popular enclosed deck saloon, with opening windows for fresh air breeze, has twin tables and settees on both sides while forward is the interior helm/nav station providing excellent visibility and protection. A bar is the main attraction on the other side while a jump seat there can provide an optional observation view forward.  The lower saloon has dining to one side and lounging/cocktail area on the other. The dining table can be in a lower position as a cocktail table while for dining it is raised and extended to welcome diners. A large overhead skylight bathes the saloon in natural light. The aft corridor leads to the master stateroom aft with queen bed, a VIP with double bed and Pullman berth, plus a twin-bedded stateroom. All staterooms are equipped with hanging lockers, shelves and other storage plus ensuite bathrooms. Forward of the saloon is a large galley, crew mess, entry to the engine room, a captain’s cabin and crew cabin, each with ensuite head. The interior is a lovely honey-colored teak throughout with modern appointments.  La Joie de Mer has been carefully and generously maintained. Big-ticket items, including the 5-year rig survey and entire painting of the yacht, have been completed in the last two years. Other replacements from a new night generator, batteries and mainsail to new galley equipment are also recent. Mechanical and other systems are up to date with servicing. La Joie de Mer is in exceptional condition, available for purchase in the Caribbean, positioned to give a new owner immediate cruising and Bucket racing pleasure---La Joie de Mer—the Joy of the Sea.
