After four days of high-octane racing, the fifth edition of Ibiza JoySail concluded in spectacular fashion this weekend (18-21 September). The finale saw the competing fleet tackle a 12-nautical-mile, triangular course in strong afternoon winds, with even stronger performances meaning many of the classes were tied at the top.
Ultimately, the 30.2-metre L'Hippocampe clinched the win for the Performance Cruising XL class, building on her success last year and relegating the 28.3-metre Spiip to a very close second.

The 35.4-metre Gelliceaux, who returned to compete in Ibiza JoySail's second edition, completed the final race just 17 seconds behind Kiboko 4 to finish third and take third place in the overall.
The Performance Cruising M class was high-stakes as ever, with the battle between the Café Racer twins, Open Season and Ganesha, spilling into the final race of the event. However, it was Open Season that won today’s race and claimed the class overall.
"It is very evenly matched and there is very little difference and once you get ahead, you have a big advantage, and is difficult to overtake," said Open Season's helm, Thomas Bscher. "We are very happy, we have had a great week, and we will come back!"
In the Performance Class, the 35.2-metre Nautor Swan sailer Moat once again showed impeccable form with four straight wins from the week, lifting the class trophy for the fifth time in succession. Following swiftly behind was the 35.1-metre Jasi, with the lime-green Morgana completing the podium and winning the Southern Wind trophy.
