The fourth edition of Ibiza JoySail drew to a close on Sunday after three days of racing around nearshore routes between the islands of Ibiza and Formentera. This year saw the largest ever number of entries with eighteen superyachts registered, including the event's biggest participant yet: the 59-metre Vitters build Maximus.
Competition was intense across the five classes with over half of the fleet sailing in Corinthian mode. A sure highlight of the regatta was the 35.2-metre Moat, delivered in 2016 by Nautor Swan, which topped the results in her class to mark four class wins from four consecutive Ibiza JoySail events.

Bliss held on to her overall lead with a third win in the World Cruising XL class, edging ahead of fellow Corinthian entry Aurelius. The 45-metre, Dubois-designed Gitana completed the podium.
Meanwhile, consistent performances by first time entries Gelliceaux and Open Season earned them the top podium spot in the Perfomance Cruising L and Performance M classes.
The closing event was a prize giving ceremony in the main hospitality area. As well as prizes awarded in each of the five classes, a Perpetual Trophy for the record between Punta Cala Figuera, Mallorca to Tagomago Island, Ibiza was awarded to Maximus, who completed the 48 nautical mile passage in three hours and 31 minutes.
"Aside from the fact that this [Ibiza] is one of the most spectacular places to sail, in Europe and almost the world, this is my first time at Ibiza JoySail, and it is magnificent," said Tony Rey, the tactician on board Maximus. "Our team loves it, our owner is having a fantastic time, the parties are fun. It has everything that you could ask for. Ibiza JoySail has delivered every day, and hopefully we will come back next year."
The dates for the fifth edition of the event have been confirmed as 18 to 21 September 2025.
