Italian shipyard Azimut Yachts has unveiled the first details of a new addition to its best-selling Fly series, the Fly 82. At 24.8 metres, the new model now stands as the flagship of the yard's flybridge range, which currently has seven designs ranging from 16.8 to 23.6 metres.
Long-time collaborator with the yard Alberto Mancini has penned the exterior design of the Fly 82, while interiors are by Fabio Fantolino, in what marks his third project with Azimut.
The model is said to combine the brand's signature DNA with innovative layout solutions and a "significant advancement" in Azimut's vision of open-air living. The Fly 82 will also become the first model in the Fly series to incorporate the Deck2Deck™ terrace system - originally developed by Azimut for the Grande 26M.
Intended to expand social space at the stern, the system is defined by an opening transom which rises to align "seamlessly" with the aft edge of the main deck, extending the space outwards.
Mancini has used sculpted yet sharply defined lines "shaped by the wind" for the flagship model's look, with the yacht described by the yard as being "something that appears to be in motion even when at rest".
Inside, interiors are refined and "softly elegant", with a bold new orange-brown accent colour that is said to infuse the Fly model with a fresh sense of character and distinction. The yard also noted that the main saloon revolves around a generous round dining table transforming the space into a "stage for conviviality".
This kickstarts a busy show season for Azimut, with the yard also unveiling the newest addition to its popular line of explorer-oriented vessels.
