Breedendam Yachts unveils 24m Eightzero Sport concept

Dutch builder Breedendam Yachts has revealed designs for its latest superyacht concept: a 24 metre convertible sports yacht named Eightzero Sport.

The concept is a fresh take on a gentleman's sports yacht, with design from the drawing boards of Guido de Groot and naval architecture by Studio Delta.

The model is the larger sibling of WW2 British Navy-inspired Breedendam Fourzero and Sixzero models by the Leeuwarden-based shipyard, and it features a number of innovative solutions including a convertible saloon area that can be closed off from the aft deck or opened to make one large social space.

“We were looking to try out some new lines to make a much more aggressive 24 metre concept with a really striking appeal for clients in the Mediterranean, and which we expect to be particularly popular with the American market,” said de Groot.

The Eightzero sport features a large outdoor entertainment deck with various social areas, including one in front of the wheelhouse. The aft deck is multifunctional and can be used as both a sun lounge or as a launchpad for tenders and toys. An aft garage is big enough to carry a tender, a WaveRunner and a host of other water toys.

Below deck, the new model can sleep up to eight guests across three en suite cabins, comprising a master suite, VIP cabin and an additional guest cabin. A single crew cabin can house two crewmembers.

The Eightzero can either be powered by three Volvo Penta IPS 1200 engines, or for those looking for a more serious propulsion package, she can also be equipped with large twin MTU or MAN engines to deliver speeds in excess of 40 knots.

“We are already quite far on with the design, so this could come to life within two years, providing we had the right client interest,” said de Groot.
