Taiwanese yard Horizon Yachts has delivered its third FD102 superyacht, which is now named Untethered

Sold to experienced American owners in August 2019, the 32 metre FD102 is designedin collaboration with Cor D Rover, and follows on from the Horizon FD85 series.

Highly customised to the requirements of its owners, Untethered features a metallic grey hull and accommodation for a total of eight guests.

The master cabin sits on the main deck while the three remaining guest cabins, comprising a twin and two VIPs, sit on the lower deck. The crew quarters meanwhile are located aft of the lower deck.

The interior is described as “warm” and finished in “dark wenge accents” and “bronze metal inlays”.

The bridge deck features a private wheelhouse forward and enclosed skylounge aft finished in the style of a “gentleman’s club” A Jacuzzi sits at the foredeck while a firepit and seating sits aft of the bridge deck.

Speaking about the customisations, the owner revealed he had made 86 changes to the yacht.

“Whoever heard of a builder letting the customer send their own decking, stained ‘just so’, to a yard, or a builder willing to install new sophisticated machinery like a water-cooled Magnus frequency converter power system, or custom Tilse heated helm windows from Germany to name but a few,” he said.

“I did get a little pushback on the fire pit on the boat deck but come this summer on a brisk night in Maine my wife and I will be toasting all those back at the factory who made the process of spec’ing and building the boat of our desires an enjoyable journey.”
