Barong D crowned Head of the Fleet as Cyclades Cup 2026 concludes
The third edition of the Cyclades Cup has drawn to a close, with the 31.1-metre Wally Barong D named Head of the Fleet following two days of completed racing in the waters surrounding Antiparos.
After an opening day abandoned due to a collapse in wind, the fleet enjoyed two contrasting race days that tested crews in everything from light and tactical conditions to classic Aegean breeze. Consistency ultimately proved decisive, with Barong D delivering back-to-back victories in the Meltemi class to secure both the class title and the regatta's highest honour.
Across the fleet, overall class victories were awarded to Perseus (Apollo), Nommo (Cyclades), Barong D (Meltemi), Windrose of Amsterdam (Nireas) and Aiolos (Skyphian).
The final awards ceremony took place in Antiparos Primary School, where owners, captains and crew gathered to celebrate the conclusion of another successful edition of the regatta. Trophies were presented to the winning yachts before festivities continued into the evening.
Reflecting on the event, Cyclades Cup founder and Almyra II owner Ilia Rigas thanked competitors and supporters for embracing the spirit of the regatta.
"Looking back at these five days, we shared every possible emotion together – excitement, stress, disappointment, happiness and many moments of adrenaline. But above all, we shared genuine connections, friendships and memories that I hope will stay with us for a long time," she said.
"We are proud that the Cyclades Cup remains small, intimate and authentic. It is about people, friendships and creating meaningful experiences together."
Now in its third edition, the Cyclades Cup continues to strengthen its reputation as one of the Mediterranean's most distinctive superyacht regattas, combining competitive racing with the hospitality, scenery and relaxed atmosphere of the Cycladic islands.
