Day two winners crowned

The provisional results from today's racing have now been confirmed, with victories awarded across all five classes.

Perseus claimed top honours in Apollo, while Nostromo secured victory in Cyclades. Barong D topped the Meltemi standings, Windrose of Amsterdam took first place in Nireas and Aiolos emerged victorious in Skyphian.

Speaking at the daily prize-giving ceremony, race officials praised competitors for adapting to the challenging conditions after yesterday's abandoned race. With stronger winds forecast for tomorrow, organisers are hopeful the fleet will enjoy a very different test on the final day of racing.

Short course delivers tactical racing

While today's course was shorter than originally planned, competitors were still treated to an intense afternoon of racing.

According to Alberto Pindozzi, ORC superyacht manager, conditions proved significantly better than forecast and produced a race that rewarded tactical decision-making. He said: "It was pretty tricky today. We sent out a couple of mark layers and they informed us where the transition line between wind and no wind was. Inside the channel was the only part where we had wind, and actually it was much better than forecast."

He continued: "We were expecting six or seven knots, and a couple of yachts reported even 12 knots, which is absolutely good. It was a short course, but really enjoyable. Short legs mean a lot of tactics, a lot of manoeuvres and a lot of work for the crews."

Perseus and Nostromo make early statements

As the fleet settled into today's shorter course, several familiar names quickly established themselves at the front of their respective classes.

Perseus set the pace in Apollo, while Nostromo once again looked strong in Cyclades. Elsewhere, Barong D enjoyed a competitive start in Meltemi, with Windrose of Amsterdam and Cool Turabi also featuring prominently as the fleet navigated the tactical conditions around Antiparos. With corrected times ultimately determining the results, crews continued to balance outright speed with strategic positioning as the race unfolded.
