New pictures: Interiors of 115m Lürssen Ahpo revealed

17 June 2022 • Written by Katia Damborsky

Delivered in 2021 to much acclaim, the 115 metre Ahpo is one of the most exciting new additions to the global fleet, but her interior has remained a guarded secret – until now. As she joins the charter market with Moran Yacht & Ship, we shine a spotlight on her jaw-dropping interiors and onboard amenities with a selection of newly released images.

Ahpo was sold by Moran Yacht & Ship in 2017 to a repeat Lürssen client and began construction under the codename Project Enzo, a nod to the owner's love of Ferraris. Her striking, supercar-inspired exterior and serene interior come from the drawing boards of Nuvolari Lenard, which marks the third collaboration between the shipyard and designer, following the 86 metre Quattroelle. Ahpo's sharp profile is characterised by a crisp white hull contrasted by stripes of black, with distinctive scoop-shaped windows along the hull line and tapered decks.

The 5,000GT yacht’s name means “grandmother” in Hakka Chinese, and the name is displayed across the side of the bow, along with the emblem of the yacht. Usually, a Sikorsky S-76 helicopter sits on the foredeck, one of two helicopter landing spots on board.

Her interiors borrow inspiration from the natural world, with plenty of calm colours, soft lines and organic patterns. Nuvolari Lenard has also maintained a continuous connection between the indoor and outdoor worlds throughout the superyacht, with a fluid layout and plenty of glass.

Ahpo’s design language is all about connecting her six decks – both the naval and tech elements with the living space – into one whole,” said Nuvolari Lenard co-founder Dan Lenard. “Her three decks integrated into the high bow guarantee sea-keeping in true ocean conditions, while also allowing her an innovative full-beam owner suite duplex.”

The waterfront beach club-spa hybrid is another of the yacht’s most impressive features. An unfolding sea terrace is adjoined by a lounge area, curved bar and a turquoise-tiled dip pool. In the overheads, segments of blonde wood carve out leaf shapes. Next to the spa area, guests will find a private massage room with a frosted glass screen adorned with bamboo.

The aft deck plays host to a large winter garden that can be completely opened or closed at the request of her guests. Foliage surrounds a table that can seat up to 16.

Throughout the yacht, Nuvolari Lenard has taken great care to ensure a high level of detail. To this end, even the cherry blossom wallpaper is hand-crafted by an expert artist.

In terms of entertainment, Ahpo volunteers a 12-seater cinema with LED star-studded ceilings and navy box seats. On the upper deck, guests will find an eight-metre swimming pool, Jacuzzi and spread of sunpads, as well as a vast gym with equipment emblazoned with Ahpo's emblem.

Elsewhere, the yacht features cutting-edge technology and engineering systems, including a heat recovery system in the generators to heat the swimming pool and Dynamic Positioning for electronic anchoring. The yacht’s two custom 12-metre IC Yacht guest tenders, plus rescue tenders (and a complete suite of water toys) are all hidden in a forward garage to save the transom area for the beach club.

Ahpo is available for exclusive charters with Moran Yacht & Ship starting from €2,500,000.
