Winch Design unveils interior renderings of ninth Amels 60 superyacht

British studio Winch Design has unveiled the interior renderings of the ninth Amels 60 superyacht. Measuring 60 metres, the on-spec build is currently undergoing outfitting works at Damen Yachting's shipyard in Vlissingen, the Netherlands, and is on track for a 2026 delivery.

A popular series (with another three units also in-build, according to BOATPro), the Amels 60 has a distinctive profile from Espen Øino, characterised by a hardtop mast, generous overhangs and the trademark trapezoid windows.

The ninth hull is currently undergoing outfitting

Winch Design is long-standing Amels collaborator known for its work on the 74-metre Nome and the 89-metre Here Comes the Sun (which is available for sale). The studio has already completed the interiors of three Amels 60 yachts, including hull one (Come Together), hull three (Khalidah), and hull six (21.12).

The interior of the ninth hull is said to be inspired by the "expansive beauty of the Pacific Islands", with each deck showcasing a different element of the oceanic region. The main deck is adorned in cool blue tones in homage to the ocean, while the lower deck is characterised by golden accents in reference to the region's inviting sands and "sun-dappled forest floors".  Up top, the bridge deck is inspired by a rainforest canopy, with a vibrant and tropical influence.

Natural materials and textures including wood, stone and leather have been used in a scheme that represents nature's "seasonal colour changes", accented with "carefully selected" marbles. Carved wood flooring adds texture under foot, while soft curved forms enhance the relaxed ambience on board.

"We created a refreshing interior derived from the Pacific Islands, with a focus on vegetation, the ocean and the sky," explained Winch Design's managing partner and creative director, Jim Dixon. "We started with a neutral and natural canvas and created unique features such as a back-lit onyx wall with an internally illuminated sculptural staircase column."

The striking central staircase is inspired by trees from the rainforests of the Pacific islands

Accommodation is across six cabins, including an owner's suite that benefits from the model's four trapezoid windows and a folding balcony that opens up to a seven-square-metre "al fresco breakfast" terrace. The guest accommodation is on the lower deck, directly connected to the beach club, sauna and swim platform.

The sundeck is another highlight at an impressive 162 square metres. A six-person Jacuzzi is the centrepiece, fronted by a raised foredeck that doubles as a sun lounger zone or a touch-and-go helipad, which, when cleared, can support aircraft up to 3,000kg. Aft of the Jacuzzi is a curved bar piece and sofa seating, positioned for commanding views off the stern.

The yacht has capacity for a 6.2-metre rescue tender, two waverunners and a nine-metre guest tender (the largest available on a yacht this size) on its foredeck, supported by a crane.

Offering a range of propulsion packages, the Amels 60 can reach a maximum speed of 15.5 knots at full power, 14 knots in "eco cruising mode" and seven knots when silent-cruising.

The Dutch yard recently celebrated the launch of the first Amels 80, the largest offering in its Limited Editions range (to which the Amels 60 belongs).
