German shipyard Nobiskrug has announced it has signed a contract for a “major” superyacht order to be built at its Rendsburg facility.
The signing sees Nobiskrug’s journey to financial recovery continue after the yard filed for insolvency in April 2021 before being taken over by German builder Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft (FSG) in August this year.
The project is due to begin its final outfitting phase and will undergo coating works on its hull, with bespoke interior outfitting set to be handcrafted.

Details such as the length and name of the project are sparse, but the yard has revealed the owner is involved in the construction of the yacht and is represented by Scott Wightman from Motor Yacht Build ltd, while project manager Dirk Hemsen heads up the construction team.
“A project of this kind relies particularly on the mutual efforts and commitment of the shipyard and the owner,” said Nobiskrug’s chief executive officer, Philipp Maracke.
“The contract signing marks another major step towards achieving set goals for Nobiskrug,” he added. “It also underlines the yacht owner’s appreciation of our expertise in superyachts.”
The delivery of the in-build vessel is slated for mid-2022.
