Orion One: First superyacht from Orion Yachts hits the water in Turkey

11 May 2026 • Written by Emily Dawkins

The first superyacht from Turkish shipyard Orion Yachts, the superyacht branch of Hersek Gemi, has officially hit the water in Yalova. The 44-metre new build, named Orion One, is now scheduled to begin sea trials next month ahead of her final delivery, which is slated for this year.

Red Yacht Design is responsible for the interior and exterior design of the 480GT yacht, characterised by a flared bow, cascading aft decks and generous lines of glazing. Naval architecture is by Alfa Marine Design, with the yacht's construction comprising a steel hull and aluminium superstructure.

The new build is currently listed for sale with Fraser, asking €22,000,000.

“Seeing Orion One in the water is a very special moment for us,” said Fatih Sürekli, managing director of Red Yacht Design. “She represents the beginning of a new story for Orion Yachts, and we are proud to have shaped both her exterior and interior identity. From the first sketches, our goal was clear: to create a yacht with real volume, real comfort and real usability, without losing elegance or character. Orion One is a strong, honest yacht, and now that she has touched the water, that idea feels even more powerful.”

According to the studio, Orion One has been designed for a modern owner seeking comfort, efficiency and flexibility. She features an efficient onboard flow throughout, including a layout optimised for easy circulation between guest areas, crew operations and technical spaces.

There is a total of five cabins on board for up to 12 guests, including a forward main deck owner’s suite with a fold-down balcony, and two double cabins and two twins with Pullman options on the lower deck. Orion One's flexible accommodation makes her suitable for both private families and use as a charter yacht.

Living areas comprise a spacious main saloon, a dedicated formal dining area and panoramic "relaxation spaces".  Initial interior renderings revealed the use of light woods and a neutral colour scheme offset by aquamarine and emerald details for a warm yet modern finish.

"The choice of light colours, the playful infusion of tones, and the thoughtful incorporation of contemporary elements aim to provide a serene yet dynamic setting for discerning yacht enthusiasts," Cana Gokhan, co-founder and design director of Red Yacht Design, previously explained.

Outdoor living is also a notable feature of Orion One's identity; she features a vast flybridge with a hot tub, an al fresco dining area and a lounge that stands as the convivial heart of the yacht. Elsewhere, a foredeck lounge is offered as a quiet sunbathing retreat, while the upper deck aft provides another dining option for entertaining.

Cihan Sandıkçıoğlu, owner of Alfa Marine Design, added: “Orion One was developed with a strong focus on dependable performance, balanced engineering and long-term usability. Her steel hull gives her the strength and confidence expected from a yacht in this category, while the overall platform supports comfort, efficiency, and ease of operation. With sea trials approaching, we are proud to see the project reach this important stage.”

The yacht has an expected cruising speed of 12 knots.
