Oyster Yachts has revealed details about its new entry-level model which it says will be sailing “in 12 months time”. In a company update video posted online, chief commercial officer Paul Adamson revealed Oyster is collaborating with Humphreys Yacht Design on the model.
He said, “The sales and management teams are working very closely with Humphreys Yacht Design to actually develop a new Oyster, a smaller Oyster that’s actually going to get that dream a bit closer to people. The yacht will be sailing in 12 months’ time."
It comes after new owner and chief executive of Oyster Yachts Richard Hadida hinted at a new entry-level model in March. “Rather than making Oysters exclusive to people who have the money to buy a 50 foot (15 metre) yacht, we want to open it up to new owners. The sooner we get them into the family, the better,” he exclusively told Boat International.
The tech entrepreneur bought the company out of administration and reappointed the vast majority of Oyster’s staff earlier this year.
