Heesen sells 50m "highly customised" hybrid superyacht Project Oslo24

22 December 2020 • Written by Miranda Blazeby

Dutch yard Heesen has announced the sale of a “highly customised”, hybrid superyacht based on its 50 metre Steel Class superyacht model.

Commissioned by “an accomplished yachtsman” who will captain the boat himself, Project Oslo24 will feature exterior design by Clifford Denn.

The yacht, also known as YN 20150, will also feature a number of technical and practical tweaks made by the owner himself.

Intended for cruising fjords, rivers and canals, Project Oslo24 will boast a folding mast for negotiating bridges with a clearance of 13.4 metres.

The hybrid propulsion package meanwhile will feature twin MTU 8V4000 M63 main engines, which comply to the IMO Tier III regulations, both of which will be coupled with a 135kW Danfoss electric motor.

The “refined but relaxed décor” has been penned by Luca Dini Design & Architecture. The traditional captain’s cabin on the wheelhouse deck will be used instead as the owner’s private office and feature a fold-out bed for use in long passages.

The master suite meanwhile will be located on the main deck while a full beam suite and office will sit alongside the other guest accommodation on the lower deck.

Other features include a main deck aft terrace with a glass-bottom pool, a beach club with an expansive wellness area and a fire pit forward.

Project Oslo24 is the fifth yacht sold by Heesen this year and is due for a 2024 delivery.

Owner’s representative and building surveyor Stefan Zucker of Zucker and Partners said: “Oslo24 is a very exciting project and we are carrying it out with enthusiasm and confidence as we know both the client and the shipyard well.”
