Turkish shipyard RMK Yachts has announced a new collaboration with renowned design studio Espen Øino International for a 50-metre superyacht. Design work is scheduled to begin next month, with the model set to be officially unveiled in Q2 of 2026.
“The 50-metre segment is a competitive space, yet it remains the ideal size for discovering most coastlines, especially when paired with a capable chase boat,” said Espen Øino. “I do believe we are heading towards a future with yachts which are not just more sustainable but also more fit for purpose. This will translate into yachts that provide more meaningful experiences with less environmental impact and less trouble for both owners and crew."
Details remain minimal at this time, although the yard disclosed that the model will feature a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure and will be a "forward-looking" design for the next generation of owners.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with Espen Øino, one of the most respected names in yacht design,” added Cüneyt Okcu, director of RMK Yachts. “His vision and creativity perfectly align with RMK’s commitment to building yachts that go beyond time, both in quality and in design.”
Øino concluded: "RMK Yachts is a great partner for such a project, because we all are passionate about the sea, yacht design and yacht building. And also they have formidable industrial strength."
RMK Yachts currently has two yachts under construction, according to BOATPro, one of which is the yard's flagship, the 65-metre custom explorer known as ER65.
