The yard has revealed that the owners are an experienced couple who were closely involved in all aspects of the design and construction of the yacht. The owners were in attendance at the launch, which chairman and chief executive of Rosetti Superyachts, Ermanno Bellettini, described as “an important milestone”.

The master suite.

The superyacht, which was initially sold  in December 2018, is built from steel and aluminium to a design by Hydro Tec. The custom interior meanwhile was penned by BurdissoCapponi Yachts & Design.

The 410 GT interior has an 8.85 metre beam and features various pieces of art, including a striking central staircase with a three-storey sculpture illuminated by a skylight, as well as an interplay of white lacquer, light and dark woods throughout.

Great attention has been paid to the connection between the interior and exterior, with windows and openings made as large as possible at the owner's request.

A custom 150-bottle wine cellar meanwhile acts as a divider between the guest areas and the owner's stateroom.

Accommodation is for a total of 10 guests in five cabins, comprising a main deck master suite and four lower deck guest cabins. The master cabin features his and hers bathrooms, a walk-in wardrobe, and a built-in balcony. "They [the owners] didn't want to have any complicated balconies with hydraulic systems. They just wanted a space that was outside without having to get the crew involved," said Rosetti Superyachts sales and marketing director Andrea Giora.

Moving aft, the main deck has been split into a veranda style seating area offering wide sea views and a dining area. A custom 150-bottle wine cellar meanwhile acts as a divider between the guest areas and the owner's stateroom.

The upper deck lounge.

A 150 square metre sundeck is a key highlight on board Emocean. The area is equipped with a Jacuzzi pool with a cascading water feature, a large cocktail bar, a gym area and al fresco dining for 12. The yacht's seven-metre tender will sit on the upper deck to allow room for a beach club and swim platform.

The exterior meanwhile, which comes from Sergio Cutolo's Hydro Tec, features "contemporary styling" with "tense, angular lines".

Reflecting on the work of Hydro Tec and BurdissoCapponi, Giora said: “Their outstanding cooperation and professionalism in defining the project that the owners had in mind was essential to respect the given timing. The RSY 38m EXP represents our first tangible experience of a totally custom-built ship and this demonstrates the strength and reliability of our shipyard in satisfying the requirements of all owners.”

Emocean is powered by twin MAN D2868 LE 425 engines for a cruising speed of 10 to 11 knots and top speed of 13 knots, and – it is now been revealed – offers a cruising range of 5,000 nautical miles.

“Stylistically, this is not your typical explorer yacht,” added Giora. “But in other ways it complies with the explorer concept, including a huge range of 5,000 nautical miles at 10 knots, solid design and construction, and great storage volumes. So in terms of the main characteristics of what true explorers are all about, she is definitely an explorer yacht,”added Giora.

Following the launch, Emocean has now been listed for charter by Camper & Nicholsons with a weekly charter rate starting from $160,000.
