Turkish shipyard Bilgin Yachts has delivered the 49.9-metre Camila from its facilities in Istanbul. The second yacht in the Bilgin 163 series, Camila was sold in 2023 to an "experienced client" based in the US, with the sale handled by FGI Yacht Group and Berkay Yılmaz, commercial director of Bilgin Yachts.
The yacht has long-standing collaborator Unique Yacht Design behind her exterior, a Turkish studio known for its work on the 41.9-metre explorer yacht Kasif and Al Reem, the final hull in Bilgin Yachts' flagship series. Camila is the sistership to Eternal Spark, which was delivered last year and premiered at the 2024 Monaco Yacht Show.
Italian designer Hot Lab is behind the interiors and has created a "modern, rich, yet warm" onboard atmosphere, according to Enrico Lumini, studio partner and head of design.
This was achieved with a mix of materials, including exposed woods, laminated glass with meshed metal accents, chrome finishes and rich Italian fabrics. According to Lumini, the focus was on "clean architectural volumes with a renewed sense for a softness of lines". To this end, there is a gentle transition between every colour and material used on board. Natural tones like champagne, cream and pearl grey feature throughout.
Generous head heights contribute to the sense of space and a full-height round glass wall separates the lobby from the main saloon. Yılmaz also praised the use of natural light on board. "Hot Lab team has added special features such as a floating staircase, a skylight on the sundeck floor and an amazing chandelier in the main lobby," he said.
Emrecan Özgün of Unique Yacht Design said that the yacht has a "sportive" look that is achieved through larger-than-average exterior areas, including a 21-metre-long sundeck and 12-metre-long bridge deck aft. She is also designed with a large beach club and features a six-cabin layout.
"We take immense pride in seeing this project come to fruition," said Yılmaz. "The distinctive elegance of Camila will undoubtedly capture attention wherever she goes. She is another stunning yacht which will cruise to US waters, and I am grateful to have worked with an experienced owner who was heavily involved with her design process."
According to BOATPro, Bilgin Yachts has 13 units on order or under construction, the largest of which is the 86-metre Bilgin 282. The Turkish yard celebrated the launch of Al Reem in December 2024.
