coquine![design], acoya design house and KOJA Design have released a new, 60-metre concept known as Hippolyta. The superyacht has an exterior inspired by vintage yachts – including the shape of the glazing and funnel – balanced by contemporary, minimalist details.
"We aimed to avoid creating a 'retro' yacht by merely imitating the designs of the past," explained Christian Leyk of coquine![design]. "Our goal was to design a yacht that embodies the spirit of a particular era, without directly replicating historical styles."
Accommodation is across five cabins, including an owner's suite with a daybed and sofa seating. There are further quarters for 16 crew. Interior design is owed to Anja Carlsson of acoya design house and Natalie Fogelström at KOJA Design, who have opted for a minimalist decor inspired by Scandinavian design. Materials used range from "responsibly sourced" teak to mahogany and recycled metals.
An interior highlight is the main saloon, which opens up to the beach club pool and lounge area. Renderings reveal a bright, airy aesthetic bolstered by floor-to-ceiling windows and a white and grey colour scheme, with dark woods providing contrast.
The sundeck is the entertainment hub, arranged with a Jacuzzi and a set of sunloungers, while a lounge and bar area is accessible through sliding glass doors.
Hippolyta also incorporates a wellness area and tender and toy storage, including space for tenders, Jet Skis and other water toys.
Hippolyta would also be powered by a diesel-electric propulsion system for a cruising speed of 15 knots, a maximum speed of 18 knots and a range of 3,500 nautical miles.
This summer, coquine![design] shared the 68-metre explorer concept Passepartout with BOAT International, while acoya design house last partnered up with Norwegian designer Kurt Strand Design on a 77-metre concept called Silence.
