Italian superyacht designer Tommaso Spadolini has penned a new custom 32.8 metre light aluminium superyacht project.
The yacht is designed for an Italian entrepreneur to a number of strict requirements, including specific dimensions to ensure the yacht can fit into a mooring berth measuring 33m x 8m.
“The other requirement was a full-beam main saloon, therefore a large living area with the dining room on another deck to keep the two different moments on board separate and finally continuity between the exterior and interior spaces, which required the extensive use of folding doors, especially on the upper deck,” explained Spadolini.
The owner also requested that the yacht be capable of reaching high speeds, resulting in a propulsion package including four Volvo Penta IPS 1350 engines totalling 3,000 hp. This provides an estimated top speed of around 26 knots and a cruising speed of 10 knots, resulting in a 3,500 nautical mile range.
Elsewhere, the yacht features clear lines, glass across all three decks and naval architecture by Umberto Tagliavini. The tender garage is large enough to hold a five-metre Williams Jet tender.
Accommodation is for a total of 12 guests in two VIP and two guest cabins, both on the lower deck, and a main deck owner’s cabin. The crew quarters, sits on the lower deck, comprises a captain’s cabin and two double cabins for a crew of five.
"We wanted to dedicate a generously sized area to the crew because it is the owner's conviction-a conviction easily shared-that a yacht with a contented crew is a yacht with a contented owner and guests," Spadolini said.
The design phase for the project is now complete and the shipyard selection process has begun.
