Top 10 superyachts ordered in 2012

The following is a list of the ten largest yachts ordered during 2012, part of the 692 yachts over 24 metres currently under construction listed in our Global Order Book. There are rumours about a couple of very large new orders, but for the moment it’s too early to confirm these.

Rarely has a year seen so many rumours and official orders over 100m. No less than four yachts were recorded this year, including two sailing yachts, and 2013 will give us more details about a couple of other projects.

White Pearl | 147m | Nobiskrug | 2016

Supposed to be called White Pearl and supposed to have a length 147 metres, this project is understood to become the largest sailing yacht of the world. Everything about her is confidential, even the date of her order, which could be at the end of 2011. There have been many discussions about her, including three masts and a revolutionary design. It's hard to know the truth from rumour, but undoubtedly she'll turn heads when launched.

Privilege Two

137m | Privilege | 2015

While this Italian yard is finishing its first project, a 126 metre superyacht scheduled for 2013, in high secrecy, the news arrived this year that they have started another giant, also designed by Laraki.

This new project will become the largest Oceanco ever built. This motor yacht will have an exterior design by Igor Lobanov and an interior by Sam Sorgiovanni. Her delivery is scheduled for 2016.

108m | Oceanco | 2015

Solar is the second giant sailing yacht of this list, and the second Oceanco ordered this year. This impressive yacht designed by Novulari & Lenard will have a DynaRig. Her delivery date is scheduled for 2015.

85m | Vitters | 2015

Few details are known at the moment about the future flagship of the Vitters yard. The project 3069 will be an all-aluminum sailing yacht of 85 metres, designed by Tripp with an interior by Doelker + Voges. Her delivery is scheduled in 2015. Read me

This large explorer motor yacht will become the first yacht produced by Piriou, a French shipyard specializing in commercial ships. Designed by Pierre Jacques Kubis, her delivery is scheduled for 2015.

75m | Golden Yachts | 2014

Few details are known about the next motor yacht under construction at Golden Yachts. Her construction has started in Greece, and this 75 metre project should already hit the water in 2014.

74m | CRN | 2014

Scheduled to become the second largest yacht ever built by CRN, the project 131 is already under construction in Ancona. Designed by Zuccon, her delivery is scheduled for Spring 2014.

Currently under construction in a famous American yard (for confidential reasons, we can't reveal the name for the moment), this project will become their new flagship. No other details are known for the moment, but we can estimate her launch date as 2014.

Sea Axe

67.25m | Damen | 2014

Dutch superyacht builder Amels has sold a second 67-metre Damen-built Sea Axe support vessel, due for delivery in spring 2014.
