Maritime specialist Vanguard Dutch Marine has revealed a 35-metre semi-custom sports superyacht concept called Armada A115, combining powerful proportions, a low profile and a projected cruising speed of above 40 knots.
Constructed in aluminium at a Dutch shipyard, she boasts a deep-V hull form designed by naval architects Humphreys Yacht Design, a feature developed specifically around the yacht's combination of speed, displacement and seakeeping requirements. The exterior and interior designs are credited to Netherlands-based Phathom Studio.
The stern boasts two distinct levels for lounging and dining, while folding side platforms, a large swim platform and a transformer-style beach club create a relaxation zone at the water's edge.
Forward, a central lounge with an integrated Jacuzzi serves as a private retreat, while the flybridge above adds an exterior helm and acts as another social space.
Soft minimalism and subtle automotive influences define her interior saloon and dining area, where natural stone, linen and leather are used minimally. Accommodation is for up to eight guests, including a full-beam owner's suite.
“The Armada A115 is for owners who know what they want and see no reason to accept an established answer simply because it already exists," said Barry Hartman Kok, CEO and marketing director at Vanguard Dutch Marine.
"It combines the individuality of a custom yacht with the confidence and efficiency of a carefully developed platform.”
"A principal challenge with this yacht's naval architecture has been integrating genuine 40-knot-plus performance into a 35-metre yacht below 200GT, while retaining the accommodation, equipment and functionality expected of a contemporary superyacht", said Tom Humphreys, managing director at Humphreys Yacht Design.
On the technical side, the yacht uses MTU 16V 2000-series propulsion. Surface-piercing propellers offer propulsive efficiency while minimising underwater appendage drag when cruising at a predicted 40 knots.
In May this year, Humphrey's Yacht Design unveiled the first and flagship 33.8-metre concept from its new "next-gen" Fast-Transit Explorer series, which will comprise explorer yachts from 15 to 34 metres in length.
