Brokerage report: Steady as she goes for August 2024

20 September 2024 • by Nick Jeffery

Data from BOATPro showed that 15 sales were completed in August 2024, with a total value (at asking price*) of €111.2M, which is a huge drop on August 2023's 26 sales totalling €282.2M, being just 39% by value.

Average values of sales were down too, being €7.4M  against €12.8M in 2023. However, August 2023's figure was skewed upwards by the sale of Here Comes The Sun, asking €178.5M, and if one removes that single sale then figures are more or less identical.

Amadeus was the largest new listing in August, joining the market at €48,500,000 with Burgess.

The most expensive sale was of Tommy Hilfiger's 62-metre Feadship Flag (pictured in the header), asking €39,500,000 and sold with Torrance Yachts introducing the buyer and Merle Wood & Associates with Burgess as joint central agents.

Price drops were less than those of the same month a year ago with 47 in August 2024 totalling €37.8M against 70 drops in August 2023 totalling €51.2M. A €5M drop on the 58-metre Feadship motor yacht W, listed with Edmiston, was the largest reduction. She is now asking €44,950,000.
