Why Calypso I is the perfect charter yacht

Her award-winning interior, inspired by a “West Indies bar” with a beach house-style theme and flexible stateroom arrangement, sets the scene perfectly for charter groups of any kind. Bleached woods, soft lighting and colourful furnishings create a relaxed yet stylish environment to unwind.

Thanks to her generously-sized deck spaces, Calypso I offers a number of amenities including an alfresco cocktail bar, two outdoor dining areas shaded from the sun, large sunpads and a seven-seater Jacuzzi. Below, there’s another drinks bar and indoor dining, plus an owner’s stateroom with private access to the deck. A beach club and well-stocked toybox ensure that Calypso I is well-prepped for active charterers, with Jet Skis, SeaBobs, fishing gear and more on offer.

Up to 10 guests can be accommodated on board.

Ideal for an eco-conscious charterer, Calypso I has also followed the modern trend of increased efficiency with a Van Oossanen Fast Displacement Hull Form. Her advanced design saves 20-30 per cent in fuel compared to other hull shapes.

What’s special about Calypso I?

Her new and exciting itinerary: Between June and August 2022, Calypso I will be cruising through the Norwegian Fjords with captain Ian at the helm. With plenty of experience sailing through Northern Europe, Captain Ian calls the region “one of the most naturally stunning places on earth” and “a wonderful location for an adventure.”

Calypso I is set to explore the coasts of Norway.

Calypso I’s itinerary will see her visit the capital of Oslo and make stop-offs in the colourful coastal towns of Kristiansand, Bergen and Stavanger to soak up the local culture and sample traditional delicacies. “We will see incredible wildlife, cruise through breath-taking fjords and make the most of our peaceful surroundings. Exploring by yacht will be the ultimate charter experience - this is the great outdoors at its very best," enthuses Captain Ian.

Calypso I is managed for charter by Ocean Independence with a weekly charter rate starting from €145,000.
