Sea Spa: Hedonistic pursuits at the Villa Dubrovnik
by Sophia Wilson
If you're going on a luxury yacht vacation in Croatia, don't miss out on exploring the historical city of Dubrovnik. For a spot of relaxation after plunging into the many dive sites in Croatia, head to the Villa Dubrovnik spa to unravel your muscles with a Diamond massage experience...
Why the hype?
If its romantic location – with stunning views of the sun setting against a backdrop of the dramatic walls and turrets of Dubrovnik Old Town – isn’t enough then the variety of techniques on offer at Villa Spa are bound to impress. A partner of Sodashi it offers an array of facial treatments, massages and beauty treatments, perfect for a mid-holiday pampering session. It is also the first and only property in Croatia to have the Diamond System, where you are immersed in coloured light and sound while lying on a bubble of warm water.
What to have?
Try the 120-minute Diamond massage experience, which includes a preparatory exfoliation, Diamond bed treatment and body massage with a personal therapist. If you are after a quicker hit, opt for the 60-minute energy balancing signature massage, which uses special Oriental aromatic oils to both de-stress and revitalise.
Where to chill?
The Villa Spa – one of the best spas in the Mediterranean – houses a stunning indoor swimming pool with glass doors that open out with views across the sheltered anchorage and uninhabited Lokrum island beyond. Below the pool lies a multi-layered rock sunbathing area where white shirted waiters are on hand to bring you freshly made smoothies or a chilled glass of Champagne. If you get too hot then there are steps down into the sea for a refreshing dip in the Adriatic.
Best by boat
For the ultimate on-the-water experience, the hotel offers a complimentary shuttle service between the Villa and the Old City on board its stunning Venetian Vaporetto speedboat. If you are visiting on your own yacht, you can anchor directly in front of the hotel and tender in to its private jetty.
