The 25.5-metre Royal Huisman sloop Metolius has been sold in-house at Berthon International, with Simon Turner representing the seller and Sue Grant introducing the buyer.
Built in aluminium by the Dutch yard in 1992, this classic pedigree sailing yacht was designed by world-renowned Germán Frers, with interiors by Pieter Beeldsnijder, and has circumnavigated the globe.
Metolius sailed over 90,000 nautical miles under her first ownership, at an average speed of nine knots with family on board. Her previous owner has carried out upgrades over the past five years, including an engine overhaul, standing rigging replacement, mast servicing and repainting, hull repainting and antifouling, as well as sanding and treatment of her teak decks.
Her layout is functional, including three cabins for the owner and guests and an airy saloon finished in varnished teak, plus an open-plan galley. The crew enjoy separate quarters forward and even have a dedicated workshop.
Metolius benefits from a 200hp Mercedes MTU diesel engine, but is best enjoyed under sail.
Metolius was last asking €550,000.
