Australian-inspired 41m Alia motor yacht Ruya sold in-house

10 October 2025 • Written by Nick Jeffery and Emily Dawkins

The 41.4-metre motor yacht Ruya has been sold in-house at Burgess, with brokers Thibault Roi and Charles Jones representing the seller in the deal. Already available for charter with Burgess, she will now also join the broker's management fleet.

Built in composite by Alia Yachts in Turkey and delivered in 2016, Ruya was the winner of a Neptune at the World Superyacht Awards in the same year. Ruya's naval architecture was completed by Van Oossanen Naval Architects, with her exterior and interior design by Sam Sorgiovanni, who drew on the Australian outback for inspiration. She was last refitted in 2021.

Ruya was last asking €13,900,000

Accommodation is for 12 guests in five spacious cabins, including a full-beam master suite forward on the main deck with large picture windows and a private office. This is complemented by two double cabins and two twin cabins on the lower deck, the latter with extra Pullman berths.

Floor-to-ceiling glass in the main saloon and formal dining room creates a sense of openness that flows into the main deck aft lounge area. The broker noted that "her interior makes use of indigenous material like bamboo and Australian silky oak to create a relaxed, comforting environment". The upper deck saloon's windows can be blacked out, and the space can be reconfigured for use as a private screening room.

Ruya's large 93-square-metre sundeck sports an "oversized" glass-faced Jacuzzi, wet bar, barbecue and al fresco dining table. The yacht also benefits from a beach club and hydraulic swim platform, giving step-free access to the sea. A dedicated tender garage and watertoy stowage, with portside access, keeps the beach club deck clear for guests.

According to data from BOATPro, she first entered the market in March 2023

The 499GT motor yacht is powered by twin 1,000hp Caterpillar diesel engines, providing a top speed of 14 knots and a cruising speed of 10 knots. Her range is transatlantic at 3,500 nautical miles. Key specs include a beam of 8.9 metres and a 2.5-metre draught.

Ruya was last asking €13,900,000.
