Delta Marine's 53.8-metre motor yacht Helios 3 has been sold, with Stuart Larsen of Fraser representing the seller and Christian Bakewell of Burgess introducing the buyer. According to BOATPro, she was on the market for just five months.
Delivered in 2012, Helios 3 was constructed in GRP to a complete design from the American yard's in-house team. In 2015, the motor yacht returned to Delta Marine for a "massive" refit from "top-to-bottom", according to her broker, along with a four-metre extension to her hull and a 2.5-metre extension to her superstructure.
The mammoth refit was completed in 2017, with her broker noting the cost to be in excess of $17 million, today estimated as a cost "well over $25 million".
Accommodation on board is for up to 16 guests in a "well-designed" seven cabin layout. An extensive full-beam owner's suite complete with walk-in wardrobe, sofa, dressing table, en suite with separate bath and shower, private office and a private aft deck with bar and lounge space is located on the bridge deck, in addition to a twin guest cabin with en suite.
The remaining guest cabins are comprised of three queen-sized cabins and a twin with Pullman berth (that can also covert into a king-sized cabin) located on the lower deck, all with en suite. There is also a triple children's cabin which lies forward on the main deck. Meanwhile, there are quarters for a crew of 14.
Her interiors are "beautifully finished", according to her broker, characterised by a stylish combination of light woods, unique patterns and muted colour palette.
Her main deck is home to a large main saloon fitted with "easy" chairs and sofas, a games table and a bar in addition to a tasteful dining room with a solid slab table seating 12. On this deck, there is also a gym and a media room fitted with a curved TV, board games and built-in wine cooler.
Outside, Helios 3 has plenty of social deck spaces to choose from. The hull extension is most noticeable on her expansive aft deck, which features love seats to starboard, a bar forward and a dining table for 16 guests aft, all protected from bad weather with sliding glass windows.
Up on the sun deck, there is a U-shaped bar, teak dining table, sun loungers, two televisions and a bathroom with shower, in addition to a large central whirlpool. Closer to the water guests can enjoy the sizeable beach club, dive room, large swim platform and a garage with 5.8-metre tender. Easy access between decks is ensured thanks to a lift.
The 776GT motor yacht is powered by twin Caterpillar 1650hp engines delivering a top speed of 16.8 knots, cruising speed of 13.5 knots and a range of 4,000 nautical miles at an economical speed of 11 knots.
Helios 3 was last asking $28,900,000.
