Ocean Independence sells 90m Hebridean Spirit

7 April 2009 • Written by Malcolm MacLean

I call Peter Thompson at Ocean Independence, as he promised me news of another sale this week and discover that he and Michael White have sold the 90m mini-cruise ship Hebridean Spirit. Peter also says that, “She’s the nicest of the Renaissance series built and her 2004 refit vastly improved her interior.”  Built in 1991 as Renaissance Six by Italy’s Cantieri Apuania yard, she was rebuilt in 2001 and most recently formed part of the small fleet of cruising vessels operated by Hebridean Island Cruises. Ocean Independence has also been awarded the vessel’s management contract by the new owner.
