The 40.1-metre Wally 130 sailing yacht Black Sails has been listed for sale with Ed Dickinson and Sean McCarter of Northrop & Johnson.

Black Sails was delivered in 2009 by the Italian yard as the only Wally 130 model, originally constructed in carbon fibre to a design by Amanda Levete with naval architecture by Javier Soto Acebal. However, the following year, she underwent a major rebuild at German yard Lürssen, with Harrison Eidsgaard re-designing the interior and Vedder GmbH completing the outfitting.

Combining performance-driven design with a bold, all-black aesthetic, Black Sails is said by her broker to be "one of the most recognisable sailing yachts launched by Wally". This is also likely due to the neon red skull that can be seen adorning the yacht for sale's bow and sails.

Black Sails is asking €10,900,000 (VAT paid)

Works carried out in the refit included new teak decks and a redesigned deck structure. Her refit was so substantial that Black Sails was awarded a 2011 World Superyacht Award.

Further refit works were completed in 2013 at Hinckley Yachts. She has also received regular upgrades each winter from her current owner.

Accommodation on board is for an owner's party of 11 in four en suite cabins comprising a queen-size master, two convertible twin-to-double cabins (both with Pullman beds) and a fourth cabin that can be arranged as an office or a suite with bunks. There are further quarters for a crew of five.

The new interior by the London-based design studio takes a "deliberately pared-back approach", her broker notes. The main saloon has a lounge area to starboard and a formal dining table to port, filled with light thanks to repeated windows above and on either side.

Deck spaces are versatile, seen in the opening transom which transforms into a water-level terrace, and her open deck layout with a retractable awning system. She offers free-standing dining and lounge furniture for different requests outside.

In terms of her performance package Black Sails carries a Hall Spars high-modulus carbon rig with EC6 carbon standing rigging, allowing for both efficient short-handed cruising and regatta racing. One 450hp MAN engine provides a cruising speed of 11 knots under power. Key specs include a 7.5-metre beam and a draft of 6.1 metres.

Black Sails is asking €10,900,000 with VAT paid.
