Swiss company A-Line Marine has lifted the lid on the Aero 45, a multi-award-winning 14 metre RIB tender that balances the safety and speed of a RIB with the luxury of a superyacht.
Set to begin construction this year, the Aero 45 features a number of stand-out features not usually found on a boat of this size. These include a cabin with en-suite and shower, plus a generous seating area for up to ten guests and a wet bar that can be used in a teppanyaki style. Sunpads on the fore and aft complete the set-up.
With flexibility at the forefront of the design, the Aero 45 can be enjoyed on its own as a “pocket superyacht”, or it can accompany a larger yacht as a chase boat. The model is easy to drive by a single person thanks to a cleverly positioned helm station, but it also caters well to crewed service.
The RIB will be built entirely in aluminium and features a patented hull design by Swedish firm Petestep. The design aims to deflect spray, promising a dry and comfortable “magic carpet” ride.
The model borrows its name from Greek mythology, where Aero means to “rise up” or “lift off”. The name is fitting, as the Aero 45 will be able to reach top speeds between 50 and 60 knots depending on the propulsion package chosen by the buyer.
Customisation is another key feature of the RIB’s design. Alexis Fotilas, A-Line’s Marine’s founder and CEO, commented, “one of the reasons we decided to go with full aluminum hull and deck is the fact that everything is hand made allowing for layout modifications and customization according to clients’ needs."
“The lack of moulds and plugs allows each owner to modify the deck layout according to his needs and taste. Options like a walk-around deck, additional cockpit seats or aft counter-facing dining area can be developed amongst other solutions. “
The structural and architectural design has been developed by a collaboration between Italian and Greek experts focusing on high-end aluminum yachts. Smart design features include a T-Top which can be covered with semi-transparent solar panels that can assist in powering most of the on-board electric equipment.
Buyers will also have options like adding an extra cabin or integrating a toy garage.
The first Aero 45 is being built for an experienced yachtsman, with delivery scheduled in 2023.
