Dutch boat builder Lekker Boats has unveiled a 17.7-metre motor yacht concept, the Lekker 60, following a €6,000,000 growth-capital injection.
The design offers more space and greater comfort than the previous Lekker 45 and Lekker 38 day boat models, with the freedom to spend longer periods on board.
A lightweight marine aluminium hull is at the heart of the vessel's design, next to a deep-V hull penned by Mulder Design, which also designed her interiors. The result is a vessel which is "comfortable and safe, even in extreme weather", while also being "blisteringly fast when you want it to be".
The Lekker 60 comes in three exterior configurations to suit the owner's needs: Sport, Touring, or Grand Touring.
This flexibility continues inside, where seating can be tailored in either an L, U or I layout for social entertaining or more private moments.
Accommodation can also be reorganised into differing layouts: two cabins, two showers and two toilets for a long weekend away, or a large open kitchen and a spacious lounge, with a further cinema-style layout available. Lekker also offers the option to combine them.
Large hull windows bathe the interior with natural light, while a standout central staircase leads to a "bright and spacious" living area which is "effortlessly connected to the water".
The Lekker 60 is capable of reaching speeds of more than 50 knots (subject to sea trials).
It's been a busy year for Lekker Boats. In February this year Lekker Boats and Miami-based advisory firm Ikonic Yachts announced a partnership to represent its Lekker 44 and Lekker 45 dayboats throughout the US, marking the shipyard's introduction into the American market.
