Italian shipyard Benetti has announced the launch of Lumina, the latest unit in its Class 44M series.
The 44-metre new build hit the water via slipway at the yard's facilities in Viareggio, in what Benetti describes as a "historic ritual", bridging the memory of master Italian shipwrights with the brand's maritime heritage. Delivery is scheduled for this summer.
Exterior and interior design is from the boards of Giorgio M. Cassetta and the model is defined by its clean lines and four spacious decks. Highlights include "exceptionally" bright interiors, with onboard engineering conceived to ensure privacy and comfort during extended passages. Lumina follows the first from the line, Juno's 7, which was delivered in March 2025, and the second unit, Fortitude1, which took to the seas shortly after in July of the same year.
The new launch comes as the Azimut|Benetti Group announces an additional €100,000,000 in strategic investment for the 2026–2028 period, building on the €77,000,000 already invested by the Group in Tuscany over the past three years.
The new investment aims to expand production capacity, including the enlargement of sheds and the introduction of new travel lifts, as well as make changes and upgrades to infrastructure and safety systems. The plan also seeks to increase product development via continuous investment in new yacht models, materials and technologies, and strengthen the refit operations at Lusben.
According to the Group, Tuscany is the operational core of its superyacht division, with 14 sites across the region (Viareggio, Livorno, Massa and Pisa), which generates 70 per cent of its global results.
The investment comes following the shipyard's report of "extraordinary industrial growth", with production value rising from €758,000,000 in 2020 to €1,560,000,000 in 2025.
