Italian yard Cantieri di Pisa has released full details on its latest yacht design, the Super Polaris 70. Built for an "adventure-loving owner", the 70-metre concept forms a key part of the builder's partnership with cruise specialist T. Mariotti, first announced at this year's Monaco Yacht Show.
The Super Polaris 70 heralds a "new generation of explorer yachts" according to the yard, suited to "any geographical area" from tropical seas to the North and South Poles. An all-Italian team is at the helm of design, including Antonio Luxardo on the exterior and interiors by Pulina Exclusive Interiors.

Mariotti announce partnership for "new generation" of superyachtsFour decks hold six double cabins, including an upper deck VIP which has two terraces and access to a large lounge and dining area and an open stern that can be configured as a volleyball, basketball or padel court. According to the yard, the "stars" of the layout are the winter garden and the owner's cabin (complete with two side balconies), which are both found on the main deck.
Interior design is gentle and "dreamlike", according to Alessandro Pulina, founder and CEO of Pulina Exclusive Interiors. "The search for new experiences and horizons is emphasised by the desire to offer an ‘oasis of comfort’ that is perfect in any setting," Pulina explained. "We tried to use the neutral shades of natural fabrics such as linen and cashmere, plus a few contrasts in order to create a dreamlike environment when cruising."
The project prioritises Italian craftsmanship, with furnishings and lighting products created in collaboration with "leading Italian brands" committed to using local raw materials.
The main deck also features an open external area that can accommodate two tenders up to 12 metres long. Loose furniture can be installed here when the tenders are deployed to create an additional social space, while extra watertoy storage (accommodating tenders up to 8.5 metres) can be found in the lower deck garage.
Other design highlights include the beach club, for its counter-current swimming pool, gym and spa, and the bow area which is devoted entirely to storage and accommodation for 16 crew.
"The design of all the shipyard’s new projects is studied in minute detail with the aim of paying tribute to and respecting the stylistic hallmarks that have characterised the glorious history of Cantieri di Pisa," said Antonio Luxardo, the yard's chief designer. "We have also introduced stylistic and functional innovations, resulting from the shipyard's signature ongoing research and development, and from listening to the needs of contemporary owners."
The Super Polaris 70 will be powered by a pair of CAT 3512 engines for a top speed of 15 knots and a range of 6,500 nautical miles at 10 knots.
