CDM signs contract for Nauta Air 108

Italian shipyard Cantiere delle Marche (CDM) has signed an order for a Nauta Air 108, the sixth unit in the Nauta Air series.

The 33-metre model has been commissioned by an experienced yachtsman and the sale was secured by IYC as the result of a new partnership between the shipyard and brokerage house.

The latest iteration of the Nauta Air 108 series is an "evolved" model and builds on the fleet's former flagship Narvalo, reuniting the design team of Nauta Design and Hydro Tec. Key differences include fashion plates that are visually integrated with tinted windows that run along the main deck.  The storage for a 6-metre tender and a crane are also now located on the main deck forward.

According to the shipyard, the new owner has "precise navigation plans" and as such, the new Nauta Air 108 will be equipped with a Dynamic Positioning System for cruising in areas where anchoring is forbidden.

Accommodation for up to 10 is split across the main and lower decks with the owner's cabin forward on the main deck. The main saloon features an L-shaped sofa area with a formal dining table, although al fresco meals can be enjoyed on the upper deck aft. A sit up bar can be found on the sundeck with sun loungers aft.

Power will come from twin Caterpillar C18 Acert engines paired with a selective catalytic Reduction System in compliance with IMO emission standards. Further accommodation sleeps a crew of five with the captain's cabin adjacent to the wheelhouse.

“I am very happy that within months of announcing our partnership in the US, we already have our first new build contract," said Michel Chryssicopoulos, global managing partner at IYC. "This CdM Nauta 108 is a true explorer with features only found on much larger yachts such as a 4,500-nautical-mile range, a Dynamic Positioning System and capacity to be months at sea. It has been a real pleasure working with Vasco and the entire CDM team and IYC is very much looking forward to the build process.”

According to BOATPro, the Nauta Air 108 joins 10 other yachts in build and on order at Cantiere delle Marche, including two Flexplorer 146 models and two RJ155 models.
