Italian shipyard Codecasa has announced the launch of its 56.8-metre new build superyacht, now christened Legacy 4. The first Codecasa 57 unit, known as hull F81 throughout construction, hit the water at a private ceremony at the Codecasa Ugo Shipyards in Viareggio.
Little has been revealed about the project since construction began in December 2023, though it was known that she would feature a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure built to Lloyd's Register classification.
Codecasa have now announced a collaboration with Italian designer Tommaso Spadolini for the new build, with the teams developing the exterior and interior designs of Legacy 4 to offer a balance between privacy and conviviality.
Accommodation will be across an owner's suite and five guest cabins, in addition to a captain's cabin and six twin cabins for the crew. An elevator will also connect all decks.
Powered by twin 2,375hp Caterpillar engines, Legacy 4 is expected to reach a maximum speed of 17 knots at light displacement, with a range of 5,000 nautical miles when pared back to 12 knots. All other details remain undisclosed.
A statement from the yard read: "The launch of the Legacy 4 is the result of the hard teamwork, expertise, passion and dedication of the whole Codecasa Shipyards team. To all Codecasa people –from the design to the construction, up to the final installations – goes our heartfelt thanks for the commitment and professionalism they have devoted to this project." Special thanks also went to the subcontractors, the owning company and Yanova and Fraser, who were advisors during the build.
According to BOATPro, the shipyard currently has four yachts under construction, including the seventh unit from its Codecasa 43 yacht model, which is scheduled for delivery in spring 2028.
