Coquine![design] reveals 106m Loup de Mer explorer concept

Inspired by the Valencian sunshine, London-based studio coquine![design] has revealed designs for a 106 metre superyacht concept named Loup de Mer.

The latest design by Christian Leyk was revealed ahead of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show and is envisioned as a “fast, efficient and elegant head-turner”.

Leyk opted for a slender hull with a low-profile superstructure, favouring aesthetics instead of following the trend towards bulk and volume. “Some yachts these days look like done by property developers, trying to put as many square metres as possible into a given length. But yachts are, after all, luxury items, no? So you can, but you don’t have to,” he said.

Her profile is defined by a single and unbroken line that runs from the bow and gently sweeps towards the water at the stern.

At 100 metres in length, Loup de Mer offers all the necessities owners could wish for including a 9.6 metre pool, a beach club and a helicopter landing pad. Her beam at the waterline is 13.6 metres - though wing stations on either side of the wheelhouse extend her beam to 16 metres at her widest point - and she is estimated to offer owners between 2,500 and 2,600GT of interior volume.

Accommodation is for up to 12 guests with “ample space” dedicated to the owner. While her interior is still under wraps, the studio is collaborating with a reputable interior designer to give the project a “welcoming, feel-good factor.”
