Dutch shipyard Damen Yachting has announced the sale and launch of the latest unit from its Amels 60 yacht model. The 60-metre new build, hull 6009, hit the water at the yard's Vlissingen facilities last weekend in what marked the builder's first launch of 2026.
Construction on this ninth hull began on speculation in 2023, according to data from BOATPro, with her sale confirmed just weeks before the launch. She will now undergo final outfitting works and sea trials ahead of her scheduled delivery later this year.
The Amels 60 was introduced to the market in 2019 and features an exterior design by Espen Øino with bold lines and trademark geometric windows. Notable sisterships include the first unit in the series, Come Together, and the second unit, Entourage, which won a Neptune at last year's World Superyacht Awards.
Similar to Come Together, this new Amels 60 unit features custom interiors by Winch Design, marking the studio's 21st collaboration with the shipyard - four of which have been for the Amels 60s line.
Setting this unit apart, however, is her "coastal calm" theme with a Pacific Islands "spirit", which is showcased through sand colourways on the swimming platform level and relaxing blue tones at sea level. Elsewhere, a palette of seasonal reds, greens and golds characterise the bridge deck, designed to give the sensation "of looking down from the top of the trees". Following her sale, the owner's team will now work closely with the yard and studio to add their final personal touches before delivery.
The new build is equipped with an advanced hybrid propulsion system for greater onboard guest comfort as well as increased fuel and range efficiency. Key specs include a volume of 853GT with accommodation for 12 guests and 13 crew plus a captain. Damen Yachting's in-house team were responsible for the naval architecture.
"This latest launch and sale reflect the yachting market's strong appetite for sustainable, versatile superyachts that combine proven pedigree with next-generation technology," said Rob Luijendijk, commercial director at Damen Yachting. "The Amels 60 continues to offer a unique proposition for owners looking to combine the customisation with the certainty of proven naval architecture, predictable delivery timelines and tested performance."
Luijendijk concluded: "Congratulations to all parties involved in the build of this Amels 60 and achieving this significant milestone and the first launch of 2026. We look forward to working closely with the new owner's team as we now head towards final delivery."
According to BOATPro, Amels currently has nine yachts on order or in build, the largest of which is its 120-metre flagship Project Tanzanite, which is scheduled for delivery this year. The shipyard recently celebrated the sale of its eighth Amels 60 late last year.
