Former Gulf Craft boss Erwin Bamps has been named chief executive of motor yacht builder Prestige Yachts, parent company Groupe Beneteau has announced.
It comes after Bamps departed the Middle Eastern superyacht yard in June this year, four years after his appointment as chief executive.
After beginning his career with a Belgian electronics engineering firm in Asia, Bamps joined Gulf Craft in 2002 as the head of its industrial and commercial operations. His 16-year stint with the company resulted in his appointment as chief executive in 2014.
In his new role at Prestige, Bamps will report to Jean-Paul Chapeleau, general manager of Jenneau and Prestige.
Bamps will be charged with solidifying the brand’s presence in Europe and North America, as well as leading its development in the Middle East and Asia.
Chapeleau said: “I firmly believe that Erwin's industrial, sales and communications expertise, his leadership and his knowledge of the highly exclusive large motor yachts market will enable him to achieve these goals.”
Founded in 1989, Prestige has 13 motor yacht models measuring from 12.8 metres to 22.8 metres, including the Flybridge and S lines.
