Polish shipyard Sunreef Yachts has unveiled the interiors of the first unit from its 26.8-metre Ultima 88 catamaran model, Wasabi.
Construction on the catamaran began in December 2023 at the yard's facilities in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates, according to BOATPro, just a few months after her sale to powerboat racing champion Tim Ciasulli was announced at the 2023 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
The model was first presented to the industry in March 2023 as the (then) latest addition to the yard's line of “hi-tech hybrid power catamarans". The Ultima line now comprises six catamaran models ranging from an entry-level 13.7 metres to 36.4 metres, with the Ultima 88 the second-largest offering.
According to the shipyard, the Ultima 88 is the result of its "forward-thinking vision", blending innovative technologies such as the line's “solar skin system” (an industry first) with performance-tailored design and contemporary aesthetics. Naval architecture has been completed in-house and claims to combine monohull dynamics and agility with the space, stability and shallow draught of a multihull.
At anchor, the model stands as a "true waterside retreat", benefitting from expansive opening bulwarks and a large aft garage for an open walkaround "Ocean Lounge". Previously described as a "supercat", with a beam of 9.3 metres and a living space of 387 square metres, the yacht can accommodate up to 10 guests.
The Ultima 88 has multiple interior layouts to choose from, with a standout choice allowing for a full-beam master suite and private sauna. Interior images on board Wasabi reveal the yacht's contemporary decor, characterised by a neutral colour palette, light woods and marbles and touches of black metals and rich, tan leathers.
The main saloon comprises relaxed sofa seating on both sides, with an open galley and formal dining area. Below, cabins comprise the chosen full-beam master with a large en suite, a large double and a twin.
“With the Ultima 88, we are taking luxury yachting to new heights of performance, elegance and design," said Francis Lapp, Sunreef Yachts founder and president. "This premiere marks an important new chapter for Sunreef Yachts as we proudly unveil this ultramodern catamaran, built at our shipyard in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates. The ULTIMA 88 embodies our vision of innovation, craftsmanship, and excellence.”
The unveiling comes after the news that professional tennis player Carlos Alcaraz had placed an order for a yacht from the same series.
