Turkish shipyard Sirena Yachts has announced the launch of the first unit from its Sirena 118 superyacht series. The 36-metre new build now stands as the largest yacht built by the shipyard to date. Following her trials and final commissioning, she is scheduled to make her world debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival this September.
The model – penned by Sirena’s in-house design team with naval architecture by Germán Frers – was first unveiled at the 2024 Monaco Yacht Show as the largest in the shipyard’s composite line, built entirely in GRP with a sub-300GT volume and a flexible tri-deck layout.
Dutch designer Cor D. Rover is the brain behind the model's customisable interior design, which the yard said has been contemporarily styled. Rover has used an "understated yet elegant" colour scheme, wood veneer applications and integrated soft lighting to create a sophisticated yet inviting ambience.
Cream upholstery, light wood tones and bronze accents characterise the decor – also chosen to help accentuate the spaces’ natural light, which, according to the yard, evolves from day to night with the glow from the rising to the setting sun.
Accommodation is for up to 12 guests and seven crew on board, with the guest accommodation comprising a VIP suite and four guest cabins on the lower deck. The shipyard has dedicated significant attention to the owner's area, which is located forward on the main deck and can extend across two decks in a "loft" option. A spiral staircase connects to a private relaxation space on the lower deck with a fold-down balcony for direct water access.
There are plenty of social areas across the model's design, including an informal dining and lounging area on the main deck aft, outfitted with curvaceous contemporary furniture and curated fittings, while further dining and a wet bar can be found on the upper deck. Meanwhile, a Jacuzzi sits in the yacht's bow, flanked by sunpads and loungers.
A fast displacement hull will give her a top speed of 16 knots, propelled by twin MAN V12 3,100hp engines. With a more powerful 3,800hp package, she will deliver a top speed of 21 knots.
"Seeing the Sirena 118 in the water for the first time is an immensely proud moment for everyone at Sirena Marine," said Çağin Genc, CEO of Sirena Marine. "As our new flagship, she showcases the expertise, craftsmanship and ambition of our entire team. The launch is a major achievement for the shipyard, and we are excited to present her to the world at the Cannes Yachting Festival."
The Turkish yard is also working towards the completion of a 42-metre superyacht – created in collaboration with Luca Vallebona and Hot Lab – which is currently under construction in Yalova, Turkey, and was announced as sold earlier this week.
